Rusty was adopted from the Humane Society on New Year's Eve, 12/31/05. Because he exhibited all of the physical and behavioral characteristics listed in the UKC Chinook Breed Standard, we had him registered as an LP Chinook. We don't know where he came from or how he got here, but we are thankful that he joined our family.
Rusty wants to be close all of the time, following me and my wife everywhere and sneaking kisses at every opportunity. He loves children and will tolerate almost anything they can dish out. In our area Rusty has become a living legend. When we are walking I hear: "There goes Rusty", or "Look, it's Rusty", or "Here comes Rusty". Often the comments are from people I don't even know.
Rusty has been in our family a little over three years, and now it is hard to think of our lives without him. He has deeply entrenched himself into our hearts. Rusty is revealing the "Best Kept Secret" to this Southern California area, where no one has ever heard of a Chinook dog.
When asked what kind of dog he is, I just point to my CNE! hat, which I wear everywhere. The image on the hat looks exactly like Rusty; so much so, that I have already purchased four of the Chinook hats.
