Bumps came into my life when he launched himself from the roadside ditch where someone had dumped him, landing in my arms. He was approximately 8 weeks old at the time. Because he looked so much like a Chinook, I was able to obtain an LP on him from the UKC. I did not know it at the time, but he was the first LP Chinook. That was only the beginning of his firsts.

He was the first Chinook to earn a U-CD, U-CDX, and to qualify and compete in a "Gaines" Regional Obedience Tournament. He qualified for, but did not compete in, two "Gaines Classic Obedience Tournaments" because they were too far away. He missed a Dog World Award by only a half point in Open. He was the second Chinook to earn a U-UD, earning the title in 7 tries - each qualifying leg being a first place.

As if all this wasn't enough, in September of 2000, Bumps became the first Chinook to earn a UOCh title - the first Chinook UKC Obedience Champion!

Bumps full name is Bull Market because he is "always up" and Bumps because we could not walk anywhere without bumping into the puppy. Easier to say than always under foot. Bumps has a delightful disposition and has made friends for the breed
wherever we go.
